Fareja is located about 6.5 km from the county seat, bordering Guimarães and Felgueiras, in a fertile region and large rural properties. To highlight in the parish, on top of a hill, from where you can see a stunning panorama, the existence of the Convent of Santa Cruz, where in the middle of the last century masses and preaching were celebrated. Fareja has an area of 3.22 km² and 855 inhabitants, according to the 2011 census.
