Guifões is a village and was a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Matosinhos, with an area of 3.53 km² and 9 495 inhabitants (2011). Density: 2 689.8 inhab / km².It was elevated to village on 12 June 2009.
It was the seat of an extinct (aggregated) parish in 2013, within the scope of a national administrative reform, to form, together with Custoias and Leça do Balio, a new parish called Union of the parishes of Custóias, Leça do Balio and Guifões.
Guifões Bridge
The Guifões Bridge, of Roman origin, would be totally rebuilt and improved during the Middle Ages. This bridge had a horizontal profile deck about twenty meters long and reinforced by guards with semicircular openings, the bridge originally had three pointed arches of varying dimensions and respective chisels.Classified as IIP Property of Public Interest, it was destroyed following a strong storm that hit the entire region in 1979. From the primitive structure, only the starts of the arch on the left bank and part of the one on the right bank reached us.

Elle a été le siège d'une paroisse disparue (agrégée) en 2013, dans le cadre d'une réforme administrative nationale, afin de former avec Custoias et Leça do Balio une nouvelle paroisse appelée Union des paroisses de Custóias, Leça do Balio et Guifões.
Pont de Guifões
Le pont de Guifões, d'origine romaine, serait totalement reconstruit et amélioré au Moyen Âge. Ce pont avait un tablier à profil horizontal d'une vingtaine de mètres de long et renforcé par des gardes à ouvertures semi-circulaires, le pont avait à l'origine trois arcs pointus de dimensions variables et des ciseaux respectifs.Classée bien d'intérêt public IIP, elle a été détruite à la suite d'une violente tempête qui a frappé toute la région en 1979. De la structure primitive, seuls les débuts de l'arche de la rive gauche et une partie de celle de la rive droite nous sont parvenus.

Esta ponte possuía um tabuleiro de perfil horizontal de cerca de vinte metros de comprimento e reforçado através de guardas com aberturas semicirculares, a ponte apresentava na sua origem três arcos ogivais de dimensões variadas e respectivos talhamares.Classificada como IIP Imóvel de Interesse Público, foi destruída na sequência de um forte temporal que assolou toda a região em 1979. Da estrutura primitiva, chegaram até nós somente os arranques do arco da margem esquerda e parte do da margem direita.
