The Sanctuary is about 13km from the city of Chaves. Its origin dates back to the Visigothic era and it is dedicated to Saint Cajetan. This is a pleasant place, with leafy and large trees, where the great annual pilgrimage of Flaviense takes place, a festival that takes place on Sunday 7 August or, when the 7th of August does not coincide with Sunday, on the first Sunday after the 7th of August, attracting numerous pilgrims on pilgrimage. The date of the feast of Saint Cajetan coincides with the death of this Italian saint, born in Vicenza.
