We have loved living here for the past 20 years and it has been a truly special, quirky and characterful family home. However, we feel it is now time to downsize, although we would like to stay locally as the village is delightful. In 1978 the property was completely derelict so the new owners at the time completely renovated the property and sensitively restored the property to its former glory. Since we have been here we have created the garden, installed new bathrooms, rewired the property in 2017 and installed a new boiler and new radiators. The flexible accommodation provides for a variety of requirements and it would even be possible to develop a business as the annexe portion used to be a hair salon. Minster has an Abbey and Church that was originally founded in 670AD and that gives the village its wonderful historic atmosphere. At the same time for commuters the village has a mainline station for the high speed train to Canterbury and London as well as a good primary school, a range of shops, convenience store and post office, a pharmacy, pubs and restaurants. There are also hair and beauty salons as well an excellent veterinary practice, a dog groomer and doctor's surgery. There is a great community spirit in the village that includes sports clubs, an amateur dramatic society, a bowls group, morris dancers and regular events in the village hall as well as a large recreation ground that also hosts the annual Minster Show. The Thanet Way for access to London and Canterbury and the Sandwich road for Dover and Folkestone are nearby, while the high speed train from Minster station will get you to Central London in under an hour and a quarter.  It is only a short distance to the Westwood Cross shopping centre for a little retail therapy and for golfing enthusiasts there is the St Augustine's Golf Club, Stonelees and the Manston Golf Centre as well as the renowned Championship courses at Sandwich. If you enjoy a walk with the dog or a bit of bird watching and seal spotting the Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve is only a short drive and there are plenty of places around for cycling and riding while the surrounding 26 miles of Thanet beaches offer a wonderful playground for the children.

Nous avons adoré vivre ici au cours des 20 dernières années et c’est une maison familiale vraiment spéciale, excentrique et pleine de caractère. Cependant, nous pensons qu’il est maintenant temps de réduire nos effectifs, même si nous aimerions rester localement car le village est charmant. En 1978, la propriété était complètement abandonnée, de sorte que les nouveaux propriétaires de l’époque ont entièrement rénové la propriété et restauré avec sensibilité la propriété pour lui redonner sa gloire d’antan. Depuis que nous sommes ici, nous avons créé le jardin, installé de nouvelles salles de bains, refait le câblage de la propriété en 2017 et installé une nouvelle chaudière et de nouveaux radiateurs. L’hébergement flexible répond à une variété d’exigences et il serait même possible de développer une entreprise car la partie annexe était autrefois un salon de coiffure. La cathédrale possède une abbaye et une église qui ont été fondées à l’origine en 670 après JC et qui donnent au village sa merveilleuse atmosphère historique. En même temps pour les navetteurs, le village dispose d’une gare principale pour le train à grande vitesse vers Canterbury et Londres, ainsi que d’une bonne école primaire, d’une gamme de magasins, d’un dépanneur et d’un bureau de poste, d’une pharmacie, de pubs et de restaurants. Il y a aussi des salons de coiffure et de beauté ainsi qu’un excellent cabinet vétérinaire, un toiletteur pour chiens et un cabinet médical. Il y a un grand esprit communautaire dans le village qui comprend des clubs sportifs, une société de théâtre amateur, un groupe de boules, des danseurs de morris et des événements réguliers dans la salle des fêtes ainsi qu’un grand terrain de loisirs qui accueille également le spectacle annuel de la cathédrale. Le Thanet Way pour accéder à Londres et Canterbury et la route Sandwich pour Douvres et Folkestone sont à proximité, tandis que le train à grande vitesse de la gare de Minster vous emmènera au centre de Londres en moins d’une heure et quart.  Il n’est qu’à une courte distance du centre commercial Westwood Cross pour un peu de shopping et pour les amateurs de golf, il y a le St Augustine’s Golf Club, Stonelees et le Manston Golf Centre ainsi que les célèbres parcours de championnat à Sandwich. Si vous aimez une promenade avec le chien ou un peu d’observation des oiseaux et de l’observation des phoques, la réserve naturelle de Pegwell Bay n’est qu’à une courte distance en voiture et il y a beaucoup d’endroits autour pour faire du vélo et de l’équitation, tandis que les 26 miles environnants de plages de Thanet offrent une merveilleuse aire de jeux pour les enfants.
