In winter, some small family ski areas such as Hochkar, Lackenhof and Mariazell are only a short drive away. You can also visit their regional shop. Scheibbs is wonderful for exploring the mountainous part of Austria with easy access to Oetscher, Mariazell or Waidhofen/Ybbs. The apartment is fully air conditioned and there is a huge swimming pool on the doorstep. There is a bicycle storage room if you want to explore the area by bike.
