However, the municipality had several couples, including amadora, venteira and falagueira, near Porcalhota. In 1907, the local population asked King Carlos to allow the change of name, a situation to which the Ministry of the Kingdom dispatched, ordering that all these urban centers be named Amadora on October 28, 1907.
