The renovated cortijo The cortijo reflects harmony with nature. This harmony can be felt throughout the house. The main entrance is indicated by a tattoo on the terrace floor. An antique door opens into a serene interior. The interiors are made of organic materials and textures with floors and bathrooms in polished concrete. All rooms in this part of the house have access to the immense roof terrace, a beautiful courtyard with barbecue and to the covered terrace on the Southeast-side. From this main part, a short staircase descends to the living space in the second part of the house. Exteriors At 50m from the house you can take a dip in the natural swimming pool of 12 by 4 meters surrounded by lush vegetation, plenty of shade under the tall trees with an endless sea view in between. At and around the house are beautiful sun- and covered terraces, a spacious courtyard with barbecue and masonry benches, here and there a swing hangs in a tree and there are intimate places to relax with a good book in the ‘wild’ gardens. Adjacent and slightly lower than the Southeast terrace is an orchard where you can pick oranges, mandarins, lemons, figs, apples, pears and cherries right off the tree. There are more orchards on the property with olive and almond trees. The finca is located in the protected nature reserve of the Sierra de Alhamilla. In the morning you can see deer drinking from the pool, mountain goats pass along and the birds provide an appropriate soundtrack throughout the day. There are also three eras at the cortijo and the ruin. An era is a circular plateau where grain was threshed, up until the last century. The eras are nicely demarcated with natural stone. The majority of this ride is on an unpaved road, which means that the trip takes about 15 to 20 minutes. From Cuevas de la Medina it is a 10 to 15 minute drive to Retamar and El Toy. Retamar is a hamlet of the city of Almeria with 9,000 inhabitants. The luxurious urbanisation of El Toyo was built in 2005 to be used as a village for the athletes participating in the Mediterranean Games. El Toyo has been designed with many green areas, cycle paths, terraces and a golf course. The 18-hole golf course is surrounded by low-rise apartment buildings and villas with private pools and gardens. There are several four-star hotels and restaurants in the area near the beach. Si la rénovation a une destination touristique, il y a aussi la possibilité d’agrandir la zone bâtie existante. La ruine dans son état actuel ne nécessite aucun entretien et sert de décor à de belles photos. L’emplacement La finca est située à 750m d’altitude et à 10km du village le plus proche, Cuevas de la Medina, où vous avez quelques restaurants, un petit magasin, des bars et une boulangerie. La majorité de ce trajet se fait par un chemin de terre, ce qui signifie que le trajet prend environs 15 à 20 minutes. De Cuevas de la Medina, il faut 10 à 15 minutes en voiture pour rejoindre Retamar et El Toyo. Retamar est un hameau de la ville d’Almeria, avec 9 000 habitants. La luxueuse urbanisation d’El Toyo a été construit en 2005 pour servir de village aux athlètes participant aux Jeux Méditerranéens. El Toyo a été conçu avec de nombreux espaces verts, des pistes cyclables, des terrasses et un parcours de golf. De woning is een traditionele hoeve (cortijo) van 290 vierkante meter met patios, overdekte terrassen en bijgebouwen brengt dat de total bebouwde oppervlakte op 485 vierkante meter. Deze harmonie is voelbaar in de volledige woning. De hoofdingang wordt aangegeven door een tatoeage op de vloer van het terras. Een antieke deur opent in een sereen interieur. De lokatie is zo mogelijk nog spectaculairder dan dat van de cortijo. De gemeente Nijar bevestigde dat deze ruïne gerepareerd en verbouwd mag worden. Indien de verbouwing een toeristische bestemming heeft, dan is er ook nog de mogelijkheid om die bestaande bebouwde oppervlakte uit te breiden. De ruïne vraagt in zijn huidige staat geen onderhoud en is een decor voor prachtige foto’s. Exterieurs Op 50m van de woning kun je een duik nemen in het natuurlijke zwembad van 12 bij 4 meter omringd door weelderige plantengroei, schaduwplekjes onder de hoge bomen met ertussen een oneindig zeezicht. Bij en rondom de woning zijn mooie aangelegde zonne- en overdekte terrassen, een ruime binnenkoer met barbecue en gemetselde zitbanken, hier en daar hangt een schommel in een boom en er zijn intieme plekjes om te ontspannen met een goed boek.   Aansluitend en iets lager dan het Zuidoostelijk terras is een boomgaard waar je bijvoorbeeld sinaasappels, mandarijnen, citroenen, vijgen, appels, peren en kersen zo van de boom kunt plukken. Op het terrein zijn nog boomgaarden te vinden met bijvoorbeeld olijfbomen en amandelbomen. De finca ligt in het beschermd natuurgebied van de Sierra de Alhamilla. ’s Ochtends kun je er herten zien drinken aan het zwembad, overdag kunnen er al eens berggeiten langskomen en de hele dag door zorgen de vogels voor een gepaste soundtrack. Er zijn ook drie era’s bij de cortijo en de ruïne. Een era is een cirkelvormig plateau waar tot in de vorige eeuw graan werd gedorst. De era’s zijn mooi afgelijnd met natuursteen.   Uiteraard valt er nog veel meer te ontdekken op dit landgoed van meer dan 60 hectare. Water en elektriciteit Het landgoed heeft een natuurlijke bron voor exclusief gebruik op deze finca, waarvan het water rechtstreeks van de mijn uit een berg stroomt.
