In the hills above the coastal resort of Riva Ligure Pompeiana is a small medieval village called Pompeiana, surrounded by olive gardens, flowers, plants and vegetable gardens. In summer Mount San Bernardo provides Pompeiana with a wonderful cool breeze and in winter it offers protection from cold winter winds. The agro-tourism of Silvia and Nino is situated just outside the center of Pompeiana. Here there are palm, mandarin and lemon trees. The area consists of a few hectares, or about 15,000 m2. There is a small wine garden and vegetables and fruit are grown here as well. There's every day somewhere near a nice market: in San Remo, Oneglia, Bordighera and on Friday the largest market of Italy in Ventimiglia. In summer, in the villages are held outdoor events: music, dance and local delicacies. In Pompeiana is a small supermarket, a good restaurant Trattoria, a pharmacy and a garage. A few kilometers away is San Remo. A famous attraction is the big casino in the city centre. In San Remo are in the center and in the coast a lot of entertainment opportunities. For nature lovers is the extensive 'Alpi Liguri', a beautiful natural area through which the river Roya flows. You can make hiking, rafting, canoeing, horse riding or cycling tours.
